Dances from the Big Band Era

Presented by Steve Conrad

Get ready to tap your toes with Steve Conrad and pals! In this movement based seminar you will learn dances from the 1940s and 50s when Swing music was Pop music. These partner dances including East Coast Swing, also known as 6-count Lindy Hop, and Collegiate. Traditionally we think of dances paired with Swing music but these same dance steps can be translated to surf rock dancefloor! Let's have fun learning and dancing together. No experience necessary, no partner needed. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Steve Conrad is founder and director of the Arizona Lindy Hop Society and has been teaching dance for over 29 years. He has traveled around the world teaching across the US, Europe, and China. Conrad was featured on ABC's The Bachelorette, HGTV's House Hunters, Arizona Highways TV, and NBC's Little Big Shots: Forever Young.
